US Gun Statistics vs. Physician Stats

US Gun Statistics from Various Sources

(C) Accidental deaths per physician is 0.171.

Guns:
(A) The number of gun owners in the U.S. is 80,000,000.
Yes, that is 80 million.
(B) The number of accidental gun deaths per year, all age groups, is 1,500.
(C) The number of accidental deaths per gun owner is 0.000188.

Statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners.
Remember, “Guns don’t kill people, doctors do.”

FACT: NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN, BUT ALMOST EVERYONE HAS AT LEAST ONE DOCTOR.

Please alert your friends to this alarming threat. We must ban doctors before this gets completely out of hand!

Out of concern for the public at large, I have withheld the statistics on lawyers for fear the shock would cause people to panic and seek medical attention.

Should Christians really totally abstain from alcoholic drinks? Or does God tell us we can drink in moderation?

Should Christians really totally abstain from alcoholic drinks? Or does God tell us we can drink in moderation?

Should Christians really totally abstain from alcoholic drinks? Or does God tell us we can drink in moderation?

In the 1800’s and early 1900’s the church in America took bold stand for tatal abstinence. People read and researched the word ‘wine:’ Bible studies showed the truth about alcohol. The result was Prohibition and its great benefits. But the Prohibition Amendment was repealed, and the church began to weaken in its conviction against alcohol. Today some pastors say, ‘What’s wrong with a six pack? Why get hung up on a little wine at a wedding?’

The Bible is the same ‘yesterday, today, and forever.’ What godly Bible teachers said in the past is still true today. Dr. Robert Teachout, a Semitic scholar who, in 1979, wrote his doctorate on the ‘Use of Wind in the Old Testament,’ stated that ‘alcohol is never approved by God in any amount for the obedient Christian.’

Dr Samuele Bacchiocchi, author of ‘Wine in the Bible,’ 1989, says that ‘drinking alcohol is a moral issue and a transgression of God’s law.’

FACTS TO KNOW:

1) The Bible does teach total abstinence from alcohol. Both the main Hebrew word for wine and the Greek word for wine can mean either fermented grape juice or intoxicating wine. The English word wine originally had two meanings also– unfermented juice or alcoholic drink.

2) In the Bible, there are verses that show God’s approval of wine is speaking of unfermented juice. And the verses which expose the evils of wine are speaking about fermented/intoxicating wine.

3) The Bible says alcoholic drink is evil. It is not just the amount one drinks that makes drinking a sin. God condemns the drink itself. (Proverbs 20:1 – KJV) ‘Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.’

4) God does not lead us into evil; He delivers us from it. He does not teach us to practice evil in moderation. Jesus did not make, use, approve, commend, or tell us to use intoxicating wine.

5) God made man to have fellowship with Him. Alcohol goes directly to the brain, the communication center of the body. It interferes with God’s purpose for mankind.

74. Titus 2:2-3 – “2Urge the older men to be temperate, venerable (serious), sensible, self-controlled, and sound in the faith, in the love, and in the steadfastness and patience [of Christ]. 3Bid the older women similarly to be reverent and devout in their deportment as becomes those engaged in sacred service, not slanderers or slaves to drink. They are to give good counsel and be teachers of what is right and noble,” (The older men and older women of the church are to be temperate and not addicted to wine.)

75. 1 Peter 4:3-4 – “3For the time that is past already suffices for doing what the Gentiles like to do–living [as you have done] in shameless, insolent wantonness, in lustful desires, drunkenness, reveling, drinking bouts and abominable, lawless idolatries. 4They are astonished and think it very queer that you do not now run hand in hand with them in the same excesses of dissipation, and they abuse [you].” (The past life of drunkenness and carousing has no place in the Christian’s life.)

STATEMENT ON ALCOHOL IN THE CHURCH
Friday, April 16, 2010
By Pastor Rodney Howard-Browne

Understanding the nature of human beings – the attraction of the forbidden fruit – people are going to drink – We cannot force anyone to do anything – however:

We would strongly warn and recommend against the use of wine and alcohol by those who are followers of Jesus, believe the Bible and believe in keeping themselves pure for the coming of the Lord.

Because of these things

1. In drinking alcohol it”s about intoxication – and that means coming under the influence and control of another “Spirit” other than the Holy Spirit.

2. Wine and Alcohol has destroyed hundreds of millions of lives over the years – broken homes, shattered dreams, premature deaths, broken hearts, wounded souls.

3. We as children of God should abstain from all appearance of evil. Remember we don’t need the wine of the world when we have been given the new wine of the Spirit to drink by Jesus.

4. If we are trying to lead someone to Christ then how do we win them to the Lord and introduce them to the Holy Spirit and the other spirit at the same time.

5. What if we caused them to fall, lose their soul, and go to hell, and to a lost eternity?

6. It’s the thin edge of the wedge because it opens up a door – a foothold for the enemy to take over and get control of our lives. People may start of having what they might call “a little for their stomach”s sake”, but before long they are needing a designated driver or being arrested for DUI.

7. Just in the ministry alone Adonica and I have seen the devastation in the lives of ministries and marriages of wonderful precious men & women of God – that had powerful anointing reduced to nothing but a crust of bread – all because of alcohol – it is the saddest thing – makes you weep – Oh how the mighty have fallen – it seemed fine when they were successful it did not show, but when they hit hard times they ended up turning to alcohol to relieve the problem, instead of turning to Jesus.

8. I asked many why they drank – they said the pressure was so great that they tried to get relief and then the enemy hooked them and took them into a dark hole – a hole they could not get out of. As with anything addictive, initially, people always believe they are the ones in control until they try to let it go or stop and finally they have to acknowledge that the substance has control of them.

9. Each one will have to follow their conscience the voice of their heart in this matter – our recommendation from 30 years in the ministry and dealing with this problem in the church – don’t touch it. This is not about rules and regulations. This is not about being religious. It is about being free it is about your eternity. You are the slave to the one to whom you yield -the one you give place to and submit to. The devil is looking for any opportunity he can find to take you out. He is looking for the chinks in your armor. Why allow a weakness of flesh or mind to be the crack in your door that gives him place.

10. Please read the online book written by a friend, theologian and scientist – on the subject of alcohol in the church – from a biblical, theological, historical and scientific view, (Link Above)

PS. I am not posting this to bring condemnation on anyone but to help those that are facing a battle!

We can check the gauge of our spiritual tank – by the song in our heart…
R U singing? ~Husbands & Wives: Check your spouse. It’s not only our job to get filled – it’s my our job to stay filled! It’s not just our your job to get on FIRE, it’s also my our to stay on FIRE – And then get others filled and set on FIRE with the HOLY SPIRIT. My car runs on a tank of gas, but it must be continually refilled… same with Christians – We are baptized once but continually FILLED!!

9 Gifts of the Spirit – According to the Holy Bible – by Regina Tuttle

9 Gifts of the Spirit - According to the Holy Bible - by Regina Tuttle

There are nine gifts of the Spirit enlisted by Paul in 1 Cor. 12:1-11, and diverse gifts of the same Spirit. The nine gifts can be divided into three distinctive categories. First are the REVELATION GIFTS of the word of knowledge, the word of wisdom, and the discerning of spirits. Next we have the POWER GIFTS which are the gifts of faith, gifts of healings, and the working of miracles. The third group is the UTTERANCE GIFTS, which include the gift of prophecy, the gift of divers kinds of tongues, and the interpretation of tongues. Keep mind that ALL the gifts of the Spirit are given for edification, exhortation, and comfort and NOT for self gain or promotion. There is no gift greater than another, and the best gift is the one needed at the moment. That is, a dead person doesn’t need a word of knowledge. The Holy Spirit gives each believer the ability to walk in these gifts and as needed on a daily basis and can manifest any one of these nine gifts through any believer anytime that He wills. Many believers have operated in the gifts without knowing it.

I. REVELATION GIFTS: These give ALWAYS ‘Reveal’ something and are all inclusive to the word of knowledge, the word of wisdom, and the discerning of spirits. These gifts always see life from God’s perspective.

a. The WORD OF KNOWLEDGE will reveal the mind of Christ down in you knower (Spirit of Truth), something that only the Lord knows about a situation, person, place, and etc. This gift will cause you to see what others don’t see, hear what others don’t hear, and know what others don’t know. The Lord will reveal knowledge to you in diverse ways such as dreams, visions, audible voice, and etc. One example of this is found in Acts 9:11-16; when the Lord spoke to Ananias and he knew the name of a man and the house where the man was staying.

b. The WORD OF WISDOM operates by the same revelation, mind of God. There is no natural wisdom involved, whereas we must keep ourselves lined up with the Word of God because everything we do comes down to motive and intent. This gift cannot be gained through studying or natural knowledge. The wisdom of God is the supernatural impartation of unlearned facts received from God alone (Ephesians 1:17). God says to “lean not on your own understanding” (Prov. 3:5), and “woe to those who are wise in their own eyes…” (Is. 5:21). Here are a couple of demonstrations of the word of wisdom operating in the Bible: Paul going before the council (Acts 23:6), Jesus answering the question regarding taxes (Matt. 22:15-22), and when Jesus was tempted (Luke 4:1-14).

c. The DISCERNING OF SPIRITS reveals false doctrine, recognizes the source of all spiritual manifestations, makes known false & real prophets, exposes the motive of people’s hearts, discerns demons, and more. You must maintain a relationship with the Lord and know Jesus (The Word) to fully walk in and appropriate the gifts of the Spirit. How will you know the spirit? Well, a great way of knowing if something is real or fake is given in the way that banks train their employees to know how to detect counterfeit money. They are trained to know by studying the real. As a result, when a counterfeit bill passes their hands they know it immediately. We know the anointing and DISCERN SPIRITS by spending time with the One and only Holy Spirit. Touching Him, smelling Him, hearing Him, tasting Him, and etc… We should, ‘prove (test) the spirits to discover whether they proceed from God’ (1 John 4), and “study to show ourselves approved unto Him” (2 Tim 2:15). Know the REAL THING! And no posers and/or counterfeits will get over on you. Amen!

II. POWER GIFTS: The gift of faith, the gifts of healings, and the working of miracles. Each of these gifts do something.

a. The GIFT OF FAITH will manifest on the behalf of the believer to perform something unattainable by natural human efforts. God injects His supernatural sovereignty and glory, and He works a miracle for us. The gift of faith is the ability to believe for the miraculous (II Thess. 1:3). This kind of faith operates in the realm of the impossible. A couple of examples include the healing of a man afflicted with leprosy (Matt. 8:1-3) and the healing of the crippled man by the Pool of Bethesda (Jn. 9:1-7). These were impossible situations, but God imparted the gift of faith. The results are always miraculous!

b. The WORKING OF MIRACLES is a power gift that is includes natural and supernatural events in God’s timing, and gives all the glory to Him alone. If you want the gift of miracles to operate in your life/ministry, make sure that the Word of God is in you and that you are being influenced by the right people. Miracles are the by-product of the spoken Word of God, because the Word of God and God are the same (Psalm 33:6). One of the most predominant and best examples of the working of miracles is when Moses parted the Red Sea in Exodus 14. The word miracles comes from the Greek word dunamis (dynamite) which means “power and might that multiplies itself.” The gift of miracles operates closely with the power gifts of faith and healings to bring authority over Satan, sickness, sin, and the binding demonic forces of this age.

c. The GIFTS OF HEALINGS is a gift that removes diseases from the spirit, soul, and body. A wonderful picture and true account of this gift is when Elisha told Naaman the Syrian to dip seven times in the water to rid himself of leprosy found in the second book of Kings. Gifts of healings comes by the touch of faith (James 5:14-15); by the spoken Word of faith (Luke 7:1-10); or by the presence of God showing up (Mark 6:56; Acts 19:11-12). It is called the ‘gifts’ (plural) of healings because there are more than one types of healing: physical (diabetes, blindness, cancer, and etc.); emotional healing from jealousy, worry, and many other destructive attitudes; and spiritual healings from bitterness, greed, guilt, and etc.

III. The UTTERANCE GIFTS: Each of these gifts will always say something (inspirational/vocal gifts). The utterance gifts include the gift of prophecy, the gift of diverse kinds of tongues, and the interpretation of tongues.

a. The GIFT OF PROPHECY brings to light the secrets and/or motives of a person’s heart. It will speak life, vision, edification, exhortation, comfort, revival, restoration, and guidance. The gift of prophecy (1 Cor. 12) and the office of the prophet (Eph. 4:11) are NOT the same thing. The gift of prophecy is a divinely anointed & inspired expression directly from God; a Holy declaration in a recognized (known) tongue. It is an expression from the Spirit of God. It is not from man’s intelligence (I Cor.12:7), and any who have the in-filling of the Holy Spirit can function in this gift (I Cor. 14:31). Remember, all prophecy must glorify Christ (John 16:14; I Cor. 12:3; and I John 4:1-2) and agree with the Bible (Is.8:20).

b. The gift of DIVERSE KINDS OF TONGUES glorifies God through spoken language and/or music. In Acts 2 the church received the gift to communicate the gospel in foreign languages. Diverse kinds of tongues are the most misunderstood yet the most dynamic gift. It is NOT your prayer language. This spiritual gift gives us the capability to speak in language(s) not learned. This is a tongue that is understood through interpretation and edifies the church (I Cor.14:15). The gift of tongues and our prayer language are both combinations of God and man. The Spirit gives you utterance and you do the talking. Every believer can speak in tongues, but the gift of these diverse kinds of tongues is a different kind of tongue.

c. The INTERPRETATION OF TONGUES is a supernatural interpretation of the diverse tongue. The interpretation of tongues is not the same thing as translation of tongues. Definition of Interpret: To paraphrase the meaning of; to give the sum and substance of; or to bring out the gist of what is being said. Again, this can only come from the mind of God. When interpretation of tongues is combined with the gift of diverse tongues, the supernatural phenomenon of prophecy is manifested. The Bible says, “Let him who speaks in a tongue pray that he may interpret” (1 Cor.14:13). Interpretation of tongues is the only one of the nine gifts of the Spirit that is dependent upon another gift in order to operate. It operates after the gift of tongues has been spoken. As with all the other gifts of the Spirit, this gift is intended for edification (1 Cor.14:12).

One of the most important steps to flowing in the gifts of the Holy Spirit is to earnestly desire them. Paul said in 1 Corinthians 12:31, “…covet earnestly the best gifts.” He repeated that in 1 Cor. 14:1 when he said, “Desire spiritual gifts.” You have to seek these gifts with all your heart (Jer. 29:13). The Bible emphasizes this by saying to stir up these gifts. Here are some scriptures that tell us to not be afraid to stir these gifts up: 1. “…earnestly desire to prophesy” (1 Cor. 14:39). 2. “…desire spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy” (1 Cor. 14:1). 3. “…do not despise prophecies” (1 Thess. 5:19). 4. “Do not neglect the gift that is in you, that your progress may be evident to all” (1 Tim. 4:14). 5. “…stir up the gift of God which is in you…” (2 Tim 1:6). We must simply offer ourselves to God as willing vessels for manifestations of the gifts of the Spirit, making ourselves availability to be used by the Lord. The nine gifts are wondrous aids in building up the Body of Christ and great help to others. Whereas, the conclusion in verse 1 Corinthians 12:7 says that the nine gifts are given to “profit all.” So what are you waiting for?

Kill it Before it Kills you!

Kill it Before it Kills you:
By Nathan Morris

“Kill it, kill it… Before it kills you. I was sat w/Rachel watching the tv. We’re normally busy and we were relaxing.. I like to watch documentary – I saw an advertisement for Dateline – it was the 20 year anniversary – I felt like the HS set me up – one of the main features was Aaron Ralston (127 hrs). He’s a man who loves adventure – a crazy guy.

He used to get his gear on and not tell anyone where he was going – He went to Blue John Cannon – leaped over caverns & seeking adventure. Little did he realize that his life was under threat. As he reached out for a rock on the cliff it gave way and he went down and when he landed the bolder that followed after him, landed on his arm. He was trapped in a cavern (by his arm) w/minimal water and food. His arm wedged between the rock and the cavern wall.

He had reached the moment where he had to choose between life and death – he began to video w/a small camera – he video’s himself with his arm totally crushed – he looked into the camera and says, “mom, dad, I love you.” I’m out here and I’m going to die… who ever finds this video, tell my mom and dad that i love them. For five days and nights he looked at his arm and on the third day he has a vision… if you’ve ever been in that place of darkness you know what is happening here… In the vision he saw a boy w/blonde hair and he knew that it was his son. He was not married yet. But the vision gave him hope to live. He cut his arm off with a little blade.

He closed his eyes and severed the last nerve, and the next time he opened his eyes he was FREE – he was found 6 hours later and he now has a son w/blond hair and blue eyes… he chose LIFE – in order for him to live he knew that thing had to go. Life and death can hinge on just one moment.

I’ve seen people change their destiny over one moment.
Eccl 3:2-3 – “There’s a time to live, die, plant, dig up, kill, & heal….”

IF you’re ever gonna see the vision that God has for you, there are things that God will show that it needs to die. Cut it off!! – I live in a generation where they want the grace, but they won’t let anything die. If you think you can go throughout your life in this world and let some of these things live, you will die with it.

Light and darkness cannot co-exist! How long will you let the lie destroy your life. Unless you sever it – it will kill you. I don’t let anyone speak in your ear. I won’t let your unbelief come and poison my spirit – if you start speaking unbelief, I will cut you off!! – I have a God that says, “if you will walk with me you will have life.” Some things have to die in order that you might live.

What lengths will you go to that you will live – we have a religion in this world that says that we can coexist and believe anything and all go to Heaven. NOT! You’ve got to kill it before it kills you. You think you can dance w/the devil and have sin in your life and coexist and still go to heaven – it is all there to take your life – the devil didn’t come to dance – he came to kill –

What fellowship can light have with darkness??

People what the fire of God on their life – but if you go on their fb they look like some rock star… they don’t look like a preacher – they do everything weird – most of the time, when you get under their skin, it stinks like sin. He’s coming for a bride w/o spot or blemish – Kill that thing now while you have time. Kill it before it kills you. This is the message that we’ve heard from Him – Jesus is light and in Him there is NO darkness at all

The Bible says that if darkness is found in you then you are a liar! When will the fear of God come back to America? You can shake, rattle, roll, and holler… But if you don’t sever the lines of satan you are going to HELL.

Nathan you’re out there! You’re just too much…. How can I be silent, when God took me out of the miry clay – He washed me and filled me…. Jesus was MORE RADICAL!!!

Jesus said, “if your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off – if you eye causes you to sin, pluck it out – if your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off…. It is better that you enter into Heaven crippled than to go to hell.”

Jesus knew that the human heart wouldn’t really cut off their limbs. He was saying that you’d better kill it (cut it off) before it kills you!!
My God, My God, My God… Do we really love Jesus that much? Are we really on fire for God? Do we really hate sin enough, that we are willing to die that we might live.

How far have you slipped away from God? Can I preach to you?

I know there are people who have a relationship with a girl or boy and they are not saved. CUT HIM/HER off — IT WILL KILL YOU!!
Do you think you are going to stay on fire living with the world?

America, where did we get this gospel from? …that says anything goes, it’s all under grace!!

We’ve got the body of Christ so ensnared with stuff that we don’t know how to sever it!!

Matt 7:14
He who called you is holy – and you be holy in ALL you do – therefore come out from among them and be ye separation – do not touch that which is unclean – you’d better sever that pornography – if you think you’re going to Heaven you’ve got another thing coming

When you call people to live holy – THAT IS GRACE!

Heb 10 – “26 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27 but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. 28 Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know him who said, “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,”[d] and again, “The Lord will judge his people.”[e] 31 It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”

You cannot coexist with sin – you’ve gotta take the sword of the HS and sever that thing right now. Jesus spoke about planting seeds among thorns and as they begin to grow, the thorns strangle the life out of them. I’ve seen men and women who were on FIRE for God and they lost it and were choked – There was something that they would not sever…. Get out of that chair and get on your knees – that relationship, that soul-tie, sever it once and for all time.

When the children of Israel were going into the promise land they sent out three spies and they saw three giants – and they returned and said they were like grasshoppers…

My friend, hasn’t that ‘thing’ cost you enough?? How many more things have to die before you will sever it? It will hurt, but if you don’t cut it it will kill you. What happened with the tree giants – When it came time for the to take the land…. Joshua totally destroyed them and their cities. They were no longer just three giants. They had multiplied and were stopping the promise – the thing is this: when you won’t deal with the problem/sin it will multiply. CUT THAT THING OFF!! KILL IT!! DON’T BLAME GOD WHEN YOU’RE DYING IN A WILDERNESS!

I don’t care what people say… there are churches that preach that we don’t need to go to these lengths. Sin crouches at the door, looking that it might destroy you. There are people reading who have ungodly soul-ties. These relationships have more power than God has over you…. Don’t let the devil tie you up… The devil wasn’t after Sampson’s hair, he was after his life.” — Evangelist Nathan Morris
